Time Fore Wine | Mastering the Wine Scene in Augusta
As an Augusta resident I can say first hand that our food and drink scene if probably one of my favorite things about living here. Restaurant employees take their craft seriously and want patrons to enjoy the experience. Below are a few places that any wine lover would enjoy, plus a few for those who’d prefer something else besides red or white.
Places to Drink Wine
Cork & Flame
4414 Evans to Locks Rd, Evans, GA 30809
Local Tip: They offer a four course Tasting Menu for $60pp, add the wine pairing for $40 or choose the premier wine pairing for an additional $80.
The Chef’s Table Experience* includes eight courses and costs $120pp, add the wine pairing for $80 or the premier wine pairing for $160.
*You must have at least six guests minimum and give a 72 hour notice.
Frog Hollow Tavern

Local Tip: Order the Smoked Gouda Mac ‘n Cheese, thank us later.
Enjoy their extensive liquor and wine by the bottle menu.
Craft and Vine

Local Tip: A CWW Favorite, stop by and enjoy one, two, or three glasses of wine from their 32 bottles to choose from.
Don’t forget to snack on a the Cauliflower Popcorn or Wood Fired Salted Pretzel Bites.
Frog and the Hen

Local Tip: Enjoy a glass of wine and their all-natural antibiotic and hormone free chicken.
This place is perfect if you’re trying to feed the whole family something delicious and healthy, plus purchase a bottle of wine in their market to take home.
Beck’s

Local Tip: Another fantastic oyster bar, make sure to try the Baked Oysters, Fried Lobster and the Shrimp Bisque.
Sheehan's Irish Pub
2571 Central Ave, Augusta, GA 30904
Local Tip: Not a traditional “Irish pub,” but boasts a pretty good wine list. Locals love the Catfish Louisiane and Honey Laquered Duck
Abel Brown Southern Kitchen & Oyster Bar
Surrey Center, 491 Highland Ave, Augusta, GA 30909
Local Tip: Abel Brown located in Surrey Center, is very close to The National, and boasts a sizable wine list and a great place for oyster lovers.
Edgar’s Grille
3165 Washington Rd Suite E, Augusta, GA 30907
Local Tip: Another CWW favorite! Their chili-glazed brussel sprouts are amazing! Stop by for Happy Hour Monday-Friday 5:00pm-6:30pm for half price house cocktails,
$6 glasses of house wine, and $1 off draft beer. They also serve a delicious Sunday brunch.
Noble Jones

Local Tip: NoJo is one of the newer restaurants to Downtown Augusta, they have a pretty decent wine list and make a mean cocktail as well.
P.I. Bar & Grill

Local Tip: Located in the historic Partridge Inn, sip a glass of your favorite vino on the spacious front porch or at the rooftop bar 👌🏼
French Market Grille

Local Tip: Enjoy the flavors of New Orleans in the middle of Augusta, Georgia. Their gumbo and Po Boys are sure to please.
Oliviana’s

Local Tip: If Sauvignon Blancs are your thing ask if they have Sileni! So good, especially after spending a day in the warm sun while out on the course.

Local Tip: The Wine Market hosts wine tastings
on Fridays and Saturday from 5pm-7pm.
Toast Wine & Beverage:

Local Tip: If you’re staying in Evans this is the perfect place to stock up on wine, beers and spirits.
They have a pretty good selection and the staff is very helpful.
White Horse Wine and Spirits:
497 Highland Ave, Augusta, GA 30904
Local Tip: White Horse is very close to The National so if you are staying on
the Hill the place is a great option. The staff is great and will help you find the perfect bottle.
Summerville Ace:
2065 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904
Local Tip: Located on The Hill across from The Partridge Inn, Summerville Ace has a wide selection and also includes a drive through!
If Wine Isn’t Your Thing
The Hive
215 10th St, Augusta, GA 30901
Local Tip: The Hive takes beer seriously. This full service restaurant includes 78 taps filled with seven wines, five craft cocktails,
one sake, two sodas, one kombucha, one nitro cold press coffee, and 61 beers. Order a glass of your favorite libation and a side of their amazing sweet potatoes fries!
Whiskey Bar Kitchen

Local Tip: So you may have guessed what Whiskey Bar is known for. With over 200 whiskies to choose from this spot is a whiskey lovers dream!
This is the perfect lunch or dinner place for burgers, fries and a tasty drink.
2nd City Distillery
4 8th St, Augusta, GA 30901
Local Tip: Take a tour of Augusta’s new distillery, afterwards try a flight of their spirits or order a mixed drink.
They do not sell food, but do have games to play and live music on the weekends.
Savannah River Brewing Co.
813 5th St, Augusta, GA 30901
Local Tip: Really a great place for the entire family. They have games for kids to play, a projection screen to watch the game, and lots of delicious beer!
They do not serve food but often have a local food truck or caterer on-site.
Riverwatch Brewery
1175 4th St, Augusta, GA 30901
Local Tip: Another great brewery that’s dog and kid-friendly! They also allow you to bring your own food.
Grab a table, play games with the family, and enjoy a pint or two. Local picks include 104 and Firethorn.
Arsenal Tap Room + Kitchen
1419 Monte Sano Ave, Augusta, GA 30904
Local Tip: Come for the over 100 beers on tap, stay for the amazing grilled cheese sandwiches.
Choose between their crafted grilled cheese sammies, like The Deliverance, or opt for the build your own option.
